She\u2019s been working in theater and film since high school with a passion for both going back longer than she can remember. This past spring, she was given the opportunity to photograph inside of the ritual spaces of the Pagan community she was raised in, which was both challenging and exciting in ways she hadn\u2019t expected. She\u2019s interested in further exploring how different people\u2019s creativity interacts in storytelling.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MickeyBaroody-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1823\" src=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MickeyBaroody-1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MickeyBaroody-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/MickeyBaroody-1-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/b><strong>Mickey Baroody \u201821<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"none\"> is a rising senior and <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">S<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">tudio <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">rt<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> m<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ajor<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> His primary disciplines are drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. His work focuses on the figure, ranging from portraits of friends and family, to abstract representations of the body. Drawing from philosophy, history, and personal experience, his work aims to consider the complexities of recognition and the ways in which identity is revealed.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Kadi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1824\" src=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Kadi-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Kadi-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Kadi-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/b><strong>Kadijatou Diallo \u201820<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> is a filmmaker interested in the role of storytelling within social justice work. She spent her entire junior year studying abroad and conducting field research across six cities. While studying at the University of the Arts London, she assisted on a number of post-graduate narrative shorts, along with directing two of her own,<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Invisible <\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> On the Surface<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Her most recent work is a short film, S<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">anctuary, <\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">she created with <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Khenya<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Bridgewater, a multimedia artist based in New York. <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Sanctuary<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> follows a conversation between activists, artists, and community organizers in the NYC and LA areas; who are involved with the physical spaces that queer people gather and the mental space one uses to heal.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/BenHayes-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1825\" src=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/BenHayes-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/BenHayes-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/BenHayes-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/b><strong>Ben Hayes \u201820<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"none\"> is an <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">A<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">merican Studies <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">m<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ajor currently working on a thesis about privacy and domestic space. His artistic background is in writing, photography, and videography, with increasing engagement in documentary work. He is interested in documentary as a vehicle for participating in and gaining an experiential understanding of a situation firsthand and sharing that with others. His favorite documentarians include W<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">rner Herzog, Errol Morris, and Joshua Oppenheimer.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/ShanaKleiner-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1848\" src=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/ShanaKleiner-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\"><\/a><\/span><\/b><strong>Shana Kleiner &#8217;20<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"none\"> is a <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">S<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ocial <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">W<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ork <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">m<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ajor and a <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">S<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ociology <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">m<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">inor. She has interned at multiple community organizations, and started doing work surrounding motherhood and mother activism while studying abroad in Durban, South Africa. This past summer, she helped conduct research on elder self-neglect policy and response, and she is dedicated to dialogue and storytelling as activism. Shana is interested in exploring motherhood, grief, healing, and restoration.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/SimoneTeague-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1827\" src=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/SimoneTeague-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/SimoneTeague-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/SimoneTeague-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/b><strong>Simone Teague \u201820<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"none\"> is an English major and a Media and Film Studies minor. Growing up, Simone did not see people that resembled herself or her loved ones in commercials, on tv, or in magazines; with her degree she hopes to tell the stories of those underrepresented in mainstream media. She has experience writing for <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Saratoga Living <\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\">and working with archival material from literary magazine <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Salmagundi. <\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Simone\u2019s first experience with video making was in tenth grade at a Vassar program, Digital Storytelling. There she and a friend wrote, directed, stared in and edited an alien talk show, and her love of video production has been apparent ever since. Her documentary work includes <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">2018 short film <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Look at Me<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\">, which celebrates trans women of color in the entertainment industry, and more recently <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">A Skateboarding Story<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\"> which explores the passion skateboarders, like herself, have for their sport.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Keshawn_headshot-scaled.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1828\" src=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Keshawn_headshot-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\"><\/a><\/span><\/b><strong>Keshawn Truesdale \u201821<\/strong><span data-contrast=\"none\"> is an English major a<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">nd<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Media and Film Studies<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> minor<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. His interests include mentoring children to develop their passion for reading and communicating with others. In Spring of \u201819, Keshawn worked at Lake View Elementary School in Saratoga Springs, New York <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">where he <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">rekindled his love for storytelling <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">by<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> witnessing the children<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2019s enjoyment of <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">story time. This past Summer, his curiosity and understanding for film<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> particularly documentary<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> was <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">grew<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"none\">through his <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">attendance of Rooftops Film events<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> in New York City<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">Throug<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">h his participation in Storytellers<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u2019<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">, Keshawn hopes to provide a vehicle <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">to lift up the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> voice<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> of everyday people from his community.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/TiyanuShi-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1849\" src=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/TiyanuShi-1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/TiyanuShi-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/TiyanuShi-1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/TiyanuShi-1-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/TiyanuShi-1-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/TiyanuShi-1-500x500.jpg 500w, https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/TiyanuShi-1-200x200.jpg 200w, https:\/\/mdocs.skidmore.edu\/storytellers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/TiyanuShi-1.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/b><strong>Tianyu Shi \u201821<\/strong> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">is a self-determined <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Film <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">major<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, with a <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">minor in <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">D<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ance. She loves making videos and short films of things happening around her, and she was inspired greatly by the diversity of Shanghai where she grew up.
